Am Sonntagabend werden mit den Emmys die wichtigsten Preise der Fernsehwelt verliehen

Heute Abend werden im Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles bereits zum 68. Mal die Emmy Awards verliehen. Ausgezeichnet werden die besten Filme, Serien und Schauspieler, die in der amerikanischen Prime Time zu sehen sind.

Als großer Favorit geht die Serie „Game of Thrones“ ins Rennen, die auf insgesamt 23 Nominierungen kommt. In einer der wichtigsten Kategorien, Outstanding Drama Series, geht die Show gegen „The Americans“, „House of Cards“, „Downton Abbey“, „Better Call Saul“, „Mr. Robot“ und „Homeland“ ins Rennen.

Peter Dinklage und Kit Harington haben beiden Chancen als bester Nebendarsteller ausgezeichnet zu werden und bei den Nebendarstellerinnen sind mit Emilia Clarke, Lena Headey und Maisie Williams gleich drei Darstellerinnen aus GoT nominiert. Behaupten müssen sie sich gegenüber Maggie Smith („Downton Abbey“), Joanne Froggatt („Downton Abbey“), Maura Tierney („The Affair“) und Constance Zimmer („UnREAL“).

Im Bereich Limited Series or Movie gilt „The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story“ (Cuba Gooding Jr., Sarah Paulson, David Schwimmer und John Travolta) mit 13 Nominierungen als Favorit.
