Als großer Favorit geht die Serie „Game of Thrones“ ins Rennen, die auf insgesamt 23 Nominierungen kommt. In einer der wichtigsten Kategorien, Outstanding Drama Series, geht die Show gegen „The Americans“, „House of Cards“, „Downton Abbey“, „Better Call Saul“, „Mr. Robot“ und „Homeland“ ins Rennen.
Peter Dinklage und Kit Harington haben beiden Chancen als bester Nebendarsteller ausgezeichnet zu werden und bei den Nebendarstellerinnen sind mit Emilia Clarke, Lena Headey und Maisie Williams gleich drei Darstellerinnen aus GoT nominiert.
