Nach den Independent Spirit Awards, den SAG Awards und den Golden Globes, wurden heute die Nominierungen für einen weiteren Vertreter der sogenannten Award Season bekanntgegeben – die der Critic’s Choice Movie Awards 2015.
Der Topfavorit ist – wie zu erwarten war – die Komödie „Birdman (oder die unverhoffte Macht der Ahnungslosigkeit)“, die stolze 13 Mal nominiert ist, unter anderem als bester Film, für den besten Hauptdarsteller (Michael Keaton) und die beste Nebendarstellerin (Emma Stone).
Auch gut dabei ist „The Grand Budapest Hotel“ mit 11 Nominierungen, während das Drama „Boyhood“ immerhin 8 Mal vertreten ist.
Wenig überraschend ist auch, dass Jennifer Aniston („Cake“), Benedict Cumberbatch („The Imitation Game“), Julianne Moore („Still Alice“), Jake Gyllenhaal („Nightcrawler“) und Reese Witherspoon („Wild“) im Rennen sind. Das sind sicherlich auch die Namen, die die besten Chancen bei der Oscar Verleihung im Februar haben werden. Leider macht das die Award Season etwas unspannender.
Die Gewinner werden von der Broadcast Film Critics Association gekürt, der etwa 250 Kritiker aus dem Fernsehen, dem Radio und der Online-Welt angehören. Schon am 15. Januar werden die Preise vergeben.
