Wem die Oscars nicht schwarz genug sind, für den sind vielleicht die NAACP Image Awards etwas. Gestern fand die alljährliche Preisverleihung statt, bei der nur farbige Schauspieler und Filmemacher geehrt werden. Wir haben alle Gewinner für euch!
Als bester Schauspieler wurde Michael B. Jordan für seine Rolle im Boxerstreifen „Creed“ ausgezeichnet. Bei den großen Award Shows wie den Golden Globes oder den Oscars landete er dieses Jahr nicht mal auf der Nominierungsliste. Überhaupt hatten es Schwarze ganz ganz schwer, einen Blumentopf zu gewinnen. Bei den NAACP Awards hingegen wurde der Star obendrein noch als Entertainer des Jahres geehrt.

Bester Film wurde der Rapper-Streifen „Straight Outta Compton“, der einer der großen Favoriten der Award Season hätte sein können, wenn das Diversitätsproblem nicht existieren würde. Allein die Mitgliederschaft der Academy, die über die Oscargewinner entscheidet, besteht aus 93% Weißen. Damit sich das ändert, wird im Hintergrund bereits eifrig an einer Umstellung des Systems gearbeitet.
„Black-ish“ wurde beste Comedyserie. Anthony Anderson und Tracee Ellis Ross sind beste Hauptdarsteller. Joe Morton aká Papa Pope aus „Scandal“ wurde zum besten Nebendarsteller in einer Dramaserie gekürt.
