Am Montag wurden in Pasadena die NAACP Image Awards vergeben, bei denen Farbige in den Bereichen Fernsehen, Film, Musik und Literatur geehrt werden

Es hätte wohl keinen besseren Tag geben können, um die NAACP Image Awards 2018 zu verleihen. Diese wurden gestern, am Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., vergeben. Geehrt wurden Farbige aus den Bereichen Fernsehen, Musik, Literatur und Film, außerdem wurden Menschen und Gruppen ausgezeichnet, die sich für soziale Gerechtigkeit einsetzen.

Host des Abends war „black-ish“-Star Anthony Anderson, dessen Show gleich mehrfach einen Preis abstauben konnte. So wurde er im Bereich Comedy als bester Schauspieler ausgezeichnet, seine Serienfrau Tracee Ellis Ross als beste Hauptdarstellerin und Serientochter Marsai Martin als beste Nebendarstellerin. Außerdem konnte sich „black-ish“ gegen „Ballers“, „Dear White People“, „Insecure“ und „Survivor’s Remorse“ als beste Comedyserie durchsetzen.
