MTV hat die Nominierungen für die MTV VMA Nominierungen 2016 bekanntgegeben. Beste Chancen auf den ein oder anderen Video Music Award haben Beyoncé und Adele, die die Nominierungsliste anführen.
Beyoncé ist ganze 11 Mal nominiert, so viel wie nie zuvor bei den VMAs. Unter anderem ist sie für das Video des Jahres („Formation“), die beste Kollaboration („Freedom“ feat. Kendrick Lamar) und die beste Choreographie im Rennen.
Unwahrscheinlich, dass Queen Bey alle Preise gewinnt, denn mit Adele hat sie starke Konkurrenz. 8 Nominierungen erhielt die Britin insgesamt, davon allein sieben für ihren Riesenhit „Hello“. Das wird ein hartes Battle in der Video of the Year-Kategorie, in der auch noch Drakes „Hotline Bling“ und Justin Biebers „Sorry“ mitmischen.
Ab sofort können die Fans unter vma.mtv.com für ihre Favoriten voten. Die MTV Video Music Awards 2016 werden am 28. August im Madison Square Garden in New York vergeben.
